Lovely stretch of river, not too challenging. Perfect for us. Very clear water. Variable weather / showers.
Using a mixture of small nymphs and dry flys; got a couple of nibbles but nothing landed.
Foundation staff very helpful when contacted - thank you.

A sporadic days fishing with all the fish coming in a few short bursts. A very nice day out with your mates.
Love the sign in the carpark offing a taxi service down to the river for a fiver per car. Its a bit of a walk but take only what you need and off you trot, its not a race.

WUF note - We are still in negotiations about the current parking situation and hope to get this resolved very soon.

Pretty disappointing. Scarcely any fish seen at all. Did find a treble spinner hanging from a branch, might have had something to do with the absence of fish! Is there a bailiff?

Quite a poor day for fishing really. The weather was overcast and cloudy and rained profusely with heavy wind till about lunch time. It got brighter, but still quite windy in the afternoon.
I only saw 2 fish all day and had a bite from one of them, but didn't get it to the net. There was lots of flies coming off the water, including what appeared to be mayflies, but very little fish rising for them. An excellent days fishing albeit with poor weather, maybe I'll do better next time.

Fantastic looking stretch of river with a few reasonably easy to access swims (waders would certainly open up more water). Being able to drive along the river was a big bonus as well. I caught 5 Barbel to 7lb 8oz, a small Chub and an Eel, all to halibut pellets. The Barbel were all looking a bit skinny after spawning and the awful weather we've had over the last 9 months or so. Unfortunately I had a slight disaster when my landing net handle broke at about midday, but my session was saved by Wye Angling of Ross on Wye who were close by and able to sell me a new one.

Having fished the opposite bank at Courtfield and the bottom end of the Worcester length at Bishopswood we were looking forward to today and weren't dissapointed. We fished the faster water near the top of the length in what I think is the Swan pool. Although we only had 7 barbel FG had a pb barbel, a fabulous fish of 11lb 13oz taken on a large lamprey pellet, the other fish were of a good average size including an 8lb 8oz, 8lb 3oz and 7lb 6oz all taken on 10mm boilies. We also had 5 chub. Be warned though the walk from the Youth Hostel to here is about 1 1/2 miles.

7 Barbel, 5 Chub
