A warm, overcast day with a light breeze. Trout were rising sporadicall throughout the day until the wind picked up and the drizzle set in about 3pm. We caught 18 fish to 1 1/2lbs, split equally between a dry olive klinkhammer and a gold headed PTN. A wonderfully enjoyable day depsite the very low water.

River low and flows through pools very slow.
Mangaged a handful of offers, just couldn't connect with any. Stayed at Upper Gilvach Farm nr St Margarets, very good spotlessly clean.

My first experience of the WUF roving voucher scheme. Eight brown trout, varying between 6" and the best of 11". All taken on the dry, 1 on a size 16 black klinkhammer and 7 on a size 10 mayfly pattern. River very low but good sport nonetheless with mayfly lifting from the water in small numbers between 12pm and 6pm. A delightful little beat with plenty of trout! Very happy with the beat.

Spent a week at the Glanusk Estate (Glanusk Lodge) with the family (incl. four young children). The grounds were idyllic, the house well-equipped, and the staff were lovely.

The weather was less co-operative with much rain and high winds. I fished three days on the Estate and managed to catch three, four, and three WBT, respectively, on a duo-rig consisting of a parachute-type dropper with either a nymph or other dry on the point. The largest of the fish was approx. 14 inches. The rest were a fair bit smaller. All were in peak condition and all put up respectable fights. To be fair, I should have caught more than I did. I certainly raised far more than I landed.

All in all, it was a fine way to spend a week's holiday.

15 trout up to 12", all returned. These were mostly taken on small, weighted nymphs. Hatches throughout the day but little surface activity. An exciting half hour mid-afternoon when fish responded to a dry Mayfly below the bridge. One was hooked, several missed.

A truly stunning place to spend a spring day.

6 wild brown trout to 1.5lbs. Enjoyable if tough day with blustery downstream wind. Fish rising intermittently - rose a few to a black klinkhammer but all fish landed were taken on the copper john nymph fished underneath. Had a good fish on for a few minutes, which lept several times and I estimated at 3lbs+, but it broke off on what must have been its last run.

Caught 8 brown trout between us, all about 4 - 6 inch tiddlers. Good hatch of a wide variety of flies. Lots of tiny bwo, plenty of mayflies and some of most things in between, including daddy long legs. Very few fish rising and no sign of any fish bigger than the few we caught. Nevertheless, a very enjoyable day on such a beautiful beat. Stayed the night in Park Place guest house, Crickhowell. Comfortable, and excellent breakfast. Very friendly - nothing too much trouble. Thoroughly recommended

Slightly more sheltered; but wind cold and upstream. 3 trout & 1 grayling all 10-12 inches. Packed in when the drizzle set in for the evening. Lovely stretch, with a good variety of water.
