A lovely day out on this well-kept Upper Wye beat. Fished from 9 am until 5 pm but sadly, no salmon caught or seen. Maybe next time.

My first time Euronymphing/grayling fishing. Caught 3 small grayling using a 2 nymph set up. All at the bottom end of Lady Alexanders Catch. Definitely would recommend studded soles as the gravel rocks can get larger and smooth unexpectedly as you're wading along.

Three good friends enjoying a new challenge and beat. Excellent variety of water suiting our various techniques. None of us blanked. Best fish was an O/S trout of around a pound but most of the others were in the 6-8 inch bracket. The beat looks to be very well kept and it was pleasing not to have to collect up any litter. Thank you WUF and the riparian owner.

River level was too high, plus coloured river. Didn't fish.

Weather was poor, constant heavy rain and wind during the day. River levels were good, similar to when we fished in the summer. Managed a few fish which made the effort worth the while.

River running high (1.27m at Builth on River levels website) with a tinge of.colour and very cold. Not a single rise seen all day and equally hard going even on euro nymphs. The ever present Copper John took 2 fish with a dark olive perdigon taking rhe other.
