A lovely days fishing shared with a good friend. Like yesterday at Ty Newydd the fish were occupying the shallow, well oxygenated riffles and succumbed to small nymphs (size 16 & 18) fished in the French Nymph style. Nothing of any great size with the largest grayling at just over a pound or so. TP's catch comprised 10 grayling, 4 trout and approximately 20 parr whilst RG weighed in with 12 grayling, 9 trout and about the same number of parr.
Footnote ; the wading in the top half of the beat is very difficult but from the middle down to the end it is as easy as it gets on the Wye.

Very hot & sunny, low water - beautiful time for fishing but not for catching. Little activity from fish or flies, just a few olives & caddis about ... basically too sunny and too hot.
All fish returned safely but all small (10 grayling to 8" plus 2 to 14", 7 x trout to 8")

Bright sunshine and crystal clear water dictated fishing at depth. Accordingly, one lovely grayling to a goldhead PTN and two 12" trout to a weighted GRHE.

Arrived late morning, weather fantastic, river conditions good. Plenty of fish rising and a good fly hatch. Both fly fishing, using mayfly, various others tried but the mayfly in June worked best! 5 landed, largest 14 inches, all returned. All in all a very good day to be on the river. Many thanks to the ladies in the office, as always extremely helpful.

Lovely stretch of river, not too challenging. Perfect for us. Very clear water. Variable weather / showers.
Using a mixture of small nymphs and dry flys; got a couple of nibbles but nothing landed.
Foundation staff very helpful when contacted - thank you.

Wet and windy conditions. Water cold. Little insect activity on the surface but a good population of heptagenid's, hydropysches and baetis nymphs in the river. One 8 inch WBT caught by 6pm. 8 more caught on Yellow May emerger pattern following a small hatch of Yellow May's around 7pm. Largest 10 inch ranging down to 6 inches.
