Evening conditions looked good at 1'5", but did not see or contact any salmon. One shad (2lbs) and several small-ish brownies caught during decent evening rise, with varied hatch/spinners/sedges. The only bigger brownies appeared just before dark.

River very coloured after overnight rain. Unable to fish.
It should be noted that the footpath to the top of the beat is impassible due to fallen trees.

WUF note: We are investigating the fallen trees and hope to have them cleared in the near future.

No fish caught, touched or even seen. Sat on the bank for about an hour waiting for the thunder storm to pass. A good little beat none the less.

River at 1'6", gin clear. One fish showed in the Stone Catch and one heavy but very brief contact in the Lady Pool is all I've got to report. Thank you.

Only one of us fished for salmon with no luck. River still high, top of beat too high and fast to wade. I fished for trout with 6 up to a pound.

Awesome, easy fishable run of fly water, it felt fishy all afternoon with 2'3" on the gauge and slight colour with 2-3' visibility. Classic conditions.
We started fishing at 3pm and by 6pm I had a 31" (11lb) fresh hen, bright silver - safely returned to carry on her journey.
Fishing moving through after this point but no more takers. Get out fishing this weekend for sure! Water is perfect.

This lovely beat which produced two trout, one of 16 inches and another of about 8. Beautiful.

1 WBT at 1lb plus 4 smaller. Weather conditions good if a little windy and the river very dark. All caught on nymphs, nothing rising to dry. Saw 2 good splashes from rising salmon on far bank at Alexander stretch below the layby entrance. Good easy fishing here but more difficult above and below this stretch.

River was at normal level and running clear.
We fished this beat from around 8:30am to 11:30am on the last morning of a 3 day trip fishing Wye and Usk Foundation beats.
Sadly we were unable to tempt fish with any method we tried, dries, wets or nymphs. We saw no signs of fish and decided to knock it on the head and start the drive home a little earlier than originally planned.
The section below the parking layby is quite easy to fish and wade however the lower and upper sections are somewhat more demanding and probably require a little more fishing skill and confidence in your wading. No fish seen and none caught.
