Pike of around 6 pounds and 10 pounds caught on lures. Tried trotting maggots for chub and silver fish but no bites, perhaps not helped by the colder weather.

Deadly quiet until 1.30pm then the bites came!
Pellets and meat doing the business.

4 Barbel, 2 Chub

Two of us fished towards the bottom of the beat as the river was very fast at the top opposite the house. Fished halibut pellets and feeder and had the a chub and barbel at about 11:30. Had to wait until mid afternoon for the other fish. All fish in great condition. Best fish was a chub nudging 5lbs. Beautiful autumn day with the river fining down over the time we were there.

Hard going with both storms rising the river well above what it’s been in recent months. 4lb chub first day and mate had 8-9lb barbel last knockings. The stretch could do with some more swims cut out especially when the rivers high and your limited, roughly 4-5 pegs available to fish on whole stretch

A beautiful stretch of the River Wye. We fished right under The Weir Garden, but for most of the day, we didn't have a single knock. The situation improved slightly in the late afternoon when the fish finally started taking luncheon meat. We ended the session with four chub up to around the 4lb mark, but unfortunately, no barbel.

hard going - clear water, down stream wind, lots of leaves snagging line - not a heap of action - highlight a sea trout of around 3lb.

Lovely venue but blanked - not even a chub rattle.
