6 Barbel, 5 Chub and 1 Eel on pellets and bread. Quiet day up until 4pm then I had 4 fish in 4 casts. This was followed by a family canoe party coming past. One lady apologised for spoiling the peace and quite and then joined the rest of the party on the gravel beach so the kids could have a water fight. 30 minutes of screaming and shouting and no more fish. Coincidence? I don't think so.
WUF Note: On the navigable sections of the Wye the right of access does not extend to the river bank unless there is a public right of way or if there is an emergency. Any canoeists landing on private property without emergency can be requested to move on. Many hire company boats will be required to carry markings after July 2013. Reports of transgressions by identifiable boats can be made to the navigation authority (EA) and Herefordshire Council.

Lovely views of otter when we arrived. Sadly, the fishing didn't match up to the early excitement. Failed spectacularly to find the barbel despite trying 10 or more swims. Caught some nice chub however with the best 5lbs 6oz.

All fish on the feeder, river low and very clear, very long walk now as you can not access the beat from the top end.

A sporadic days fishing with all the fish coming in a few short bursts. A very nice day out with your mates.
Love the sign in the carpark offing a taxi service down to the river for a fiver per car. Its a bit of a walk but take only what you need and off you trot, its not a race.

WUF note - We are still in negotiations about the current parking situation and hope to get this resolved very soon.

First time on this length and we were quite impressed. A beautiful setting opposite Weir Gardens where the most appealing pegs were located. The only drawback being the long and seemingly unnessary walk to the riverbank. It was certainly hard work in the sunny conditions. Surely someone is just being awkward making anglers walk all the way round. Fortunately the fishing was much better than on the previous 2 days and fish were picked up steadily for most of the day except for 2 or 3 hours in the afternoon. In all we had 12 barbel and 6 chub to 8lb+ on a variety of pellet baits.
