Blanked today. Couldn't find any fish using a variety of methods. Water very clear. Peaceful beat.

A stunning setting for a days fishing. Glad we were able to drive down to the river as the walk from the gate entrance would have been challenging. Plenty of swims to choose from along the beat however the river was fairly low and clear and despite best efforts with a variety of baits and moving swims, only one small chub and a surprise trout graced the net.

Better day than previous as concentrated on the pegs and areas that produced the day before. Also had a couple over 10lb and the rest high singles which was very pleasing. Good average size compared to other areas we’ve been before.

A new venue for the four of us – seemed to spend most the day walking around looking for the best swims (some of it very fast as the river still a bit high). Would like to try it again, very attractive and varied stretch – biggest barbel was 10.12 so very pleased about that :-)

Dropping river but still a nice colour. Quiet morning with just a chub to show for our efforts however after moving around we found some barbel after lunch. Finished on 4 barbel to 8.13 and a nice 4.8 chub. Fish caught mid river using small boilie, paste & PVA bag. Otter spotted near boathouse late afternoon. See you next year!

Very high but falling. Conditions probably be perfect tomorrow. All fish from lower steadier section. Ledgered meat on bed of hemp. Beautiful beat.

Feeder fished pellets on flooded river which was 2ft higher than the day before. I tried smelly paste and flavoured luncheon meat but no bites to big baits.
