Nice day on the Wye. Very picturesque venue. Seemed to snag up a lot more than previous visit here but still got a few nice fish. A pleasure to be able to roam this lovely stretch.

Caught 10 nice chub between us, still can’t catch a barbel. Also a first for us caught an eel on pellet, tricky old thing. Great spot, river is a bit low.

Another 1st time for me fishing this beat and a privilege to fish a cracking looking section with the weir gardens opposite. There were obviously a fair number of visitors in the gardens and a lot of canoeists during the day but that all quietened down around 4pm. The day was warm and bright and the river low & clear so wasn’t expecting a great deal during the day but started about 1.30 until 7.30 and ended up with 4 barbel to 7lb+ and a chub the other was an eel on meat so the tin went straight back in my bag! Well chuffed with the result especially as I missed the prime dusk time but a tad nerve wracking when you’re playing barbel in clear water ! Usual baits of pellets, corn, mini boilies Would definitely return to this beat at some point

A very bright day with low and very clear water. Bites were hard to come by through morning and afternoon and nothing from Barbel until after 6pm when more shade and cooler conditions prevailed. Chub and Barbel all caught on pellet/ledgering. The "others" were 2 eels. Great location, beautiful scenery.
