After reading reviews about lost tackle and snags.. I booked and thought it wouldnt be that bad. Wrong.. very snaggy and lost along of gear so beware on this beat. The day was hot and difficult conditions, we caught a couple of pristine barbel in the evening fairly close in due to the snags. Lovely beat visually but just a shame about the snags as your never totally sure on bait presentation. All fish caught on pellet feeder.

A brilliant day on this beautiful stretch of the Wye was enjoyed by me and my girlfriend. Biggest fish of the day included a 5lb chub and an 11lb barbel with a bonus dace that was in lovely condition.
A shame that people think it is acceptable to leave dog foul on the banks and the fallen trees upstream from the gardens make the top pegs all but unfishable but still a great beat for fish quantity and quality.

The river was still carrying extra water after the rain earlier in the week. This is a really attractive looking section of river and access is straightforward. It would have been really peaceful too had it not been for the man with the petrol strimmer in the National Trust property opposite who put in a long shift.
Fished a variety of swims and found that there were lots of snags throughout. Having not lost much kit in the previous two days, I became something of a tackle dealer's dream today.
Fish were caught from all of the pegs we tried with Barbel to 8.5lb. The highlight of the day though was an enormous Chub which weighed in at exactly 6lb.
