Great weather and a fantastic setting for this first of 2 days. Action packed first hour with barbel of 10.5lb and 7.5lb, followed by a lull until the late afternoon when 4 chub came to the net from 4lb to 5.25lb. Nice to have the landowner show so much interest and listen to constructive feedback as to how to improve this venue still further (basically, please open up more swims in the downstream section as it looks fabulous but there was no way to fish the bottom half of the beat at all).

Weather a struggle, occasional heavy showers. Chub at weir and below boat house, rocks a problem beneath the wall. A good location just the wrong day. Easy access and a beautiful stretch. Will be back. Broken a couple of times !!!

River looked great with a tinge and about .7 m up. Access to most swims opposite the gardens especially boat house not really possible . Small beach at top end was nice however and opened account here with 2 good barbel on meat . Eel tempted me onto float and enjoyed trotting meat and corn for 1 lost barbel and about 100 dace - some very nice ones. Can't believe we didn't contact any good chub. We fished 10- 6. Pub calling.

Started fishing on the beach opposite the Weir Garden, ended fishing from the top of the bank after the river rose about 5 feet in a few hours, didn't put the barbel off though.
