First ever visit to the River Wye and really enjoyed it, despite heavy rain for all of the day. The conditions made the fishing tricky with plenty of debris being washed through and picking up the lines but caught two cracking chub of 4lbs and 4 1/2lbs and will definitely be back for another go.

Arrived Sunday evening to recce the beat, without the other anglers' van in the carpark or the farmer offering a lift it would have been difficult to know where to park as there is no WUF sign.By Tuesday the colour had largely gone and the flow had gone from the water compared to 36hrs previously. My two colleagues fished on the top bend and I was below in faster water, very little activity after a few hours on the feeder so when it got brighter in the afternoon we fished float for a few hours and caught trout dace and small chub almost every cast on maggot. All the action from the bigger fish was in the last couple of hours of daylight back on feeder and pellet. Ended up with 2 barbel 8lbs and 5lbs and 5 chub
around the 3lbs mark.Lovely piece of river with comfortable pegs and good access with the pegs marked at the top of the bank with a wooden post, would have fished better with more colour in the river and a less bright day.

Easy on line booking. Good directions to beat however there is NO WUF sign in the parking area. Where the directions say there is a sharp right hand bend this road goes to Eaton Bishop you take the road that says NO THROUGH ROAD then park through the gate on the hardstanding next to a building, after about 10 yards. The farmers mobile number is on a board where you park and its well worth the fiver it is a long walk.

River in good condition, slow fishing though. I caught the chub on chilli flavour L/meat opposite the weir garden on the wall peg. I caught the barbel in the faster water further up the beat on halibut pellet and feeder.

Fantastic location will definitely be back. Thanks WUF.

Nice stretch of water but a very long walk. Thank god for the lift there and back by the farmer. We managed a decent chub and 4 barbel to 7lbs. River was coloured and pushing through but not too bad for weed and debris.

This water normally produces good barbel catches but to have a blank barbel return is unusual. Tried several methods and baits to no avail. Thank goodness for chubbies.

No fish caught. The walk to the river must be close to mile over a very rough track, need to be young and fit manage it of which I am neither. The farmer will take you down and back for £5.

River fairly low and slightly coloured. Fished the top bend with an audience on deck chairs on the far bank. Had 3 dace on caster. Fed hemp and caster and had four barbel, biggest was 10lb. The water level dropped a foot and all bites dried up so dropped down into next peg and had 2 more barbel with another 10lber. Lovely place and a nice days fishing but a very long walk!
