Weekend and season end fishing in the hope of last years weather. Not to be this year with water temperatures of 42.8f on the Saturday and 42.5f on the Sunday. Fishing the upper stretch I had a trout and a nice chub. We moved downstream to the slower water and late in the day I.S. caught two barbel 6lb 3oz and 8lb 10oz in quick succession.
Sunday was heading towards arctic conditions and we abandoned the trip after three hours.

River very low & clear could see the bottom half way across in many swims. Moved around but only had bites in two smims. 3 chub caught 3, 4 & 5lbs all on bread. Very enjoyable day & although it didn't help the fishing it was nice to see the sun.

3 rods pike fished all likely looking pike swims all morning till 1pm. Tried a selection of static deadbaits and sink and draw with only a 14lb fish to show which took float ledgered trout. Will try another stretch looking for Wye croc!

River still on the drop after recent floods. Arrived on a bitterly cold morning and struggled all day to get a bait presented well with the amount of debris flowing through - no fish on either rods all day. Disappointed after making the long walk there and back for no return.

Cut down all my tackle for the long walk, 45mins later was fishing on this picturesque section. Unfortunately no fish, but a nice day out.

Fished 11am to 6.30pm, a fairly cold day (approx 6 degrees), river quite low and clear. Started opposite the Weir Gardens on a gravel beach, caught 2 barbel (biggest 9lb) but lost too many feeders so moved up river to the next peg. Caught 3 more barbel and a very small chub. Mid afternoon moved down to the field you arrive in, caught another barbel and one more chub. All fish caught on 14mm pellet, despite alternating between pellet and meat. In total caught 6 barbel and two chub, a very enjoyable day.

Only small dace caught trotting, couldn't find the chub. Lovely trotting water though. Put the pike rod into a couple of likely looking lies but not a sniff - probably need a few frosts and felt I should have been throwing lures for them so early in the season. Switched to barbel for the last hour having seen a couple roll - caught 7 to 8-15. Lovely autumn day to be by the waterside, especially at this location, it really is a cracking stretch of river.

8 fish caught, a combination of Chub and Barbel with the largest Barbel being 7lb. A big Pike lives on this beat. The access road down to the fishery from the car parking area is in a poor state, park up and then a 15min walk to the beat.
