river still slightly high and slightly coloured. weather conditions good. but 2 rods and not a touch. one fish, as usual, seen in Vanstone. hope for a better season next year!

1 cock salmon, 4lbs, safely returned. Caught on a size 8 double Willie Gunn.

Water at a good height, but a very dark black colour, not the usual brown colour for this time of year, and the river looks strange with no weed.

No fish caught, saw only one, water still coloured

Still spinning water today unfortunately, and not apparently dropping at all although possibly clearing very slightly during the day. Fished with an intermediate line, sinking leader and a variety of showy flies. One good fish showed in the middle of Maddox at around half two, otherwise uneventful.

At last a bit of water - maybe too much - 0.83 on the Ross gauge and very coloured....tried mainly in maddox and vanstone. did see a fish but couldn't get a take. did meet Mick the ghillie who was very friendly and informative.

River rising fast following a night of heavy rain.

Fished morning only. One fish seen. None caught.

Heavy rain had started an hour previously.
