Once again Mick the beats guide put me on a fish even in the bright sunshine. But it did not stick and the shfc came back after a brief encounter.

After recent east and South easterly high winds it was a pleasure to cast a fly in good conditions.

Washed off

Bit of a drop in temperature today and wind rose during our stay. About midday there was huge hatch of Grannom(Mick's guess), followed by hail. No fish seen or contacted for any of us.

3 salmon.....just kidding! River still quite high but clear, and wading was difficult and rather challenging in places. Fished this beat thoroughly, and even used a spinner in deeper sections. No fish seen, and I just wonder what it will take for the powers that be to start wondering why there are so few fish in the system!? But its still a lovely stretch of river, and well maintained by the resident Ghillie. Here's hoping for a better season than last year!
