A cool Easterly wind. Saw 3 salmon in the Vanstone in the morning but nil elsewhere. The fly fished better than I expected in the low water with enough flow to fish it around. Good to bump into Mick later in the afternoon and catch up on news. Sadly fishless but enjoyable anyway.

Really struggled with fishing as there were loads of Kayaks out today.

Lots of kayaks disturbing the fishing....only saw 1 salmon late evening when the kayaks had finished,
Very frustrating.

Lovely day fishing and good fly water, lost a salmon and rose another in gabions on fly.

Very cold,snow showers! Nothing showing, but an enjoyable day.

Blank. This beat has been fished fairly hard in recent days and weeks and has produced some salmon. I fly-fished it as assiduously as possible, but no joy this time, although a large trout from Island Stream was some consolation. For once it was a day of good conditions (for fishing), cloudy with some drizzle, although the cold wind came back in the afternoon. Fish showed in most of the pools. And, believe it or not, not one single canoe came through.

No salmon seen. The 'other' fish was a salmon smolt.
