River in lovely condition and a few fish showing. Only fish caught, a 2.5 lb chub.

An enjoyable two days albeit barren ones as far as the fish was concerned. Mick made every effort to put my son, Robert and myself over fish but it wasn't to be. Here's to next season.

1 x 31 inch coloured hen on size 10 Bann Shrimp from the V. Low water, 0.54 on the Lydbrook gauge.

Three good days fishing, condition in the morning were perfect. First hen salmon caught was 11lb from the Vanstone the second hen, 12lb from the V, the third one, a 5.8 Grilse in the Island. All three on an ally shrimp nice takes and all put up a good fight.

3 Salmon

Nice fishery well maintained, with easy access, no fish caught but saw a few jumping. Will fish again in the new season.

Slightly high and coloured water, intermittent cloud and sun, with periods of keen and gusting wind. Using a Sink tip with a Geoff Franks single hair wing Comet fly, I felt a strong tug on the line, and landed an 8lb hen fish. Half an hour later, a 16lb hen fish, followed within the hour, by a fine looking 20lb cock fish. Contrary to what a previous report suggested, this is fine fly water, and marvellously maintained by Mick the ghillie, whose expert guidance put me on to each of those three fish. So thank you Mick and Geoff, for a memorable end to this year's season.
