enjoyed the day, but it was too bright and sunny. Wye is now running low, fished all day with dry flies. Although there were plenty flies, no sign of fishes. Being truly lucky to catch 1 decent grayling around 2 pounds

One lovely 2lb grayling to save a blank! Took a size 14 light green olive off the top. Bitterly cold wind all day, tried about 2 dozen nymph patterns but nothing, only a saw a few rises, thought they were small trout splashes until one took my dry.
Alltogether a hard day but on a beautiful part of the river and a stunning grayling to end it all.

Good to on the river at long last. Only a few rises seen and a very light trickle of grannom in the sunny spells. No fish taken, not even a bump when nymphing. However the setting is beautiful with the usual companions of dippers, kingfishers, red kites, buzzards and a large new generation of lambs.

Only my second visit to this beat but a river that needs respect. Wading stick a must as very deep pools. Mixed weather but didn't pour down and wind did make casting difficult for me. Water in shallows was gin clear so found deep pools the best fishing. Small hatches of LDO and fish were showing on top. Still need to practice in casting a dry and river suits the left handed angler. Had a few takes using weighted nymphs but too slow. Never mind a very interesting beat and lovely parking space.

Sunny warm day, so I decided to use Dry fly all day. good hatch around 11am and late afternoon as well. 8 grayling, and 6 brown trout. Most of the fishes were around 2 pounds, with couple of grayling definitely over. Great day, and lovely beat.

Craig Llyn is becoming one of my favourite places to be, I always enjoy fishing this stunning beat.
Weather was positively spring like with sunshine, a gentle beeeze and highs of 14C, a few Olives started emerging around 11:30am and a few fish started to rise to them before a very impressive hatch of March Browns occurred around midday sending the fish just upstream crazy with lots of splashy rises, I managed 3 out of season Grayling on self tied dries before the fish seemed to disappear despite a blizzard of March Browns which lasted about 20 minutes.
I fished on without much success until later in the afternoon when one or two fish started rising in the deep, slow pool in the first field, I offered them my dry fly which was taken on the first cast and resulted in a very pleasing 20 inch brown trout, a great end to the day.

We popped up for 4 hours, no march browns but good olive hatch. One nice trout ,all taken on drys. Dull day, fish rising all up the river.
