Only me fishing whole stretch took along while but they started to feed about 2ish surprising perfect conditions just didnt happen early on all luck i suppose

New venue for us, interesting access to the beat.
Mixed weather of sun and overcast but no rain, ideal day. River height looked good but very coloured. We are more used to the middle Wye beats with fast shallow and clearer water. This has deep runs with a slower river pace. We had some good weight chub but the barbel deluded us. We tried a variety of baits that have been previously successful, just one of those days.
The location is stunning, a beautiful part of the Wye Valley.

First time we've fished this beat so walked most of it to find not many obvious swims but enough. River was up a foot with some colour. We had high hopes but couldn't make the most of it. Biggest chub was 3lb and the barbel a baby. One big fish was lost but that was it. Commitments meant we couldn't fish past 6....

Had a great days fishing lovely place ,lots of kayaks but they were all good causing no problems fished couple of swims .some could do with a bit of work on them but that’s being picky would definitely go again .

Had a fantastic day at Thomas Wood . Caught 5 Barbel , didn't have scales but the biggest was easily double figure . Also caught a big Eel . Will definitely be going back .
