not a touch - and.....
Usk gauge showing 0.219m - I've read elsewhere that it's fishable under 0.3. I will definitely wait for it to drop more before another visit. At this level it's hard to fish the far bank unless you're a lot braver than me.
Weather was hot and sunny so not the best, visibility around 4ft.
Sporadic individual olives hatching (I was there from 11:30 to 4:30).
I saw 6 or 7 fish, all cruising up and down their patch of the right hand bank in less that 30cms depth - all very nervous.
I saw 5 or 6 rises.
But it is a lovely stretch, I walked from the top of the beat down to the shallows past the pipe.

Only saw 3 rises all day - very quiet
Lodge pool unable to access - resident said land above gate private?
Bottom 6 pools from Finns onwards very difficult to access so gave up and went back to Bridge Pool etc
Fishing lodges locked and padlock must be a different code to gate?

Weather started off warm and sunny with a reasonable hatch but i saw just a handful of rises along the whole beat. Opted to fish Euro nymph style and had plenty of takes in the faster water.... missed most of them as my reactions are getting a bit slow these days! Had a great day despite the weather turning very wet mid afternoon. The river was fairly clear and i had a very enjoyable day watching the wildlife and new born lambs in the field behind. A very nice venue! Will definitely be back for another shot.

Too much upstream wind today. Not good for flies or fishermen. River falling to a good height though. Caught one on well-sunk nymph.

Trickles of olives and March Browns from late morning onwards but cold breeze appeared to discourage surface activity apart from a brief period of 10 min around 1.00 pm when fish were rising freely. Both fish caught on dry March Brown imitations. Best fish ~ 1lb.

The river was clear but still a tad high. Quite a few grannom around, a good localised March Brown hatch and a small number of LDOs. The fish were pretty fussy with no adult flies being taken, just emergers and they weren’t really on them. We ended the day with 6 fish between us, the best at around 2.5lbs. We lost a few fish too. A lovely beat and if the water was maybe 6 inches lower it would’ve been perfect. A very enjoyable day and lovely to see the resident otter come over to take a look at what we were doing.
