Our first visit to this fishery so we did not know where to fish. We tried 2 different swims with no success, but moving to a third swim in front of the car park for the last hour did produce some bites, and we did land one barble and a good chub.

Had fished various beats all week. This was my last day and was looking forward to a good days catch but got down the track only to be caught up in heavy thunderstorms, waited for an hour checked forecast and didn't look like weather was going to let up so called it a day before track became to difficult to get up. Not what I wanted but that's life. Still had a good week. So happy days.

Rain made little difference to river level. It came up 3 inches then went down 3 inches during the day. Found a oxygenated swim which rewarded me with 10 Barbel and 3 Chub. Biggest Barbel around 4 - 5lb all on touch ledger meat. Biggest Chub around 4lb. Sun finally shining.

10 Barbel, 3 Chub

River very low still many swims struggling to show any flow, crease or foam line so many parts of beat showing no signs of fish holding up. Tried 4 swims finished on 2 small Barbel to krill dumbells. Lost 1 which just shot off before the hook could set itself. Blanked weed still an issue and flow still an issue as lack off.

4 Barbel

Hopes were reasonably high as we arrived at Home.
We started fishing at 8am but within literally a minute we were inundated by blanket weed drifting downriver at all levels, sometimes hauling in up to 3-4lbs of the stuff! This stuff is a menace made bad this year by nutrients, sun and low water levels. Presumably it is starting now to die off?
We went from feeder to float to free lining without a single knock. We packed up at 1pm and went to a carp puddle to put bends in rods.
