Blanked. Water very low. Focussed on end of beat where good foam line. Unfortunately blanket weed was horrendous and did not allow good presentation. Setting was great and it was lovely to be on the river. Will be back next month when hopefully after a good flush and river at better levels.

Arrived to find river very low with blanked weed and hardly any flow. Tried several swims that I know produces Barbel but only managed a PB for blanket weed. It's in serious need of rain to get flowing again. Pub lunch at the Inn on the Wye ready for change of tactics for the afternoon. Rolling meat on a gravel run produced 11 Barbel, best being 5lb. A good result in the end.

Very weedy and very busy with river traffic being Sunday. The only place to get some consistent fishing was the far channel on the island swim. Two small chublets on the float. Will be back though

One small Chub on bread trotted downstream plus one very small dace. Canoes were a nightmare. Two rigs lost because of irresponsible canoeists who did not seem to care. But will be back again when conditions improve.

Lovely day weatherwise, but up against it from the off. The shallow water came as no surprise, but the weed coated bottom meant that everything was arduous. And then, from 9 am onwards, the Canoe and Paddle board tsunami. The majority are fine, but as in all areas of life, the unbelievably entitled must have their say and way.. One gent (not a youngster) seemingly delighting in heading straight towards a well settled and obvious line.
The Barbel (7+) and the Chub (4) came to ledger and pellet. Both around mid-day, both to the same angler. Faster water near island swim was targeted, but canoe traffic (and wild swimmers) made it a struggle.
River desperately needs a really good flush through, a rise in levels, and some cooler weather. It was noticeable, that both fish gave little struggle.
A lovely day otherwise.

Early morning session 3 barbel in the 4-6lb range and 4chub around the 3lb mark, there seems to be a lot of silkweed covering the river bed lately unable to keep bait in water more than 5 minutes without the feeder and hook link being covered.I would have stayed longer but the canoes were a nightmare when a paddle boarder fell off in my swim I called it a day, groundbait and pellet feeder and meat on hook caught all fish the other was an eel.

Very low, but managed to find two swims at the end of the beat. Impossible to float fish, but had good success on the feeder - despite the number of people swimming in the swim!

Having struggled to catch many fish while the water is low, decided to start after lunch and fish into the evening. Lots of canoes and swimmers so not much expected until things calmed down. Needn't have bothered - blanked. Lovely stretch, though, so likely to be back when there's more water on.

Very slow section with blanket weed right across the river bottom that you can't see from the bank. That's all bar the very bottom end. Problem with there though is that it's opposite Lydbrook beach (Bournemouth beach at this time of year but in Lydbrook) and the open channel is the only accessible bit for the canoes. Once these cleared I had 4 little barbel ( 1 - 4lb) on GB feeder and pellet or meat.
