Hard afternoon on the river but not to be expected considering the conditions - bright sunshine, very hot and little flow so happy to get a bite and a nice Chub to save a blank.

It was way to hot,two chub in early morning then kayak traffic from hell never seen it so bad plus lots of swimmers it was more like the seaside than the river wye, then to top it off people fishing the opposite bank ,just don’t care where they fish ,casting straight into our swim was forced to move. Left early had enough for one day.

Had a great day today on this beat, used both float and feeder. Can’t wait to come back. Biggest barbel 8.5lbs, and biggest chub 5.2lbs. The gravel road was a lot easier going back up this time in the dry weather, the car managed it okay.
