3 Trout

A short evening session produced 1 grayling and 1 small brown trout. Nothing sizeable. Lovely calm (no wind) evening.

But very, very hot this week (30 degrees) and bright sun, with the rivers running low, so generally not the best conditions.

1 Trout, 1 Grayling

My friend was fishing this beat alongside me - he caught a couple of small but beautiful wild brown trout. Evening session.

2 Trout

River was low but conditions better at Gofynne. Lovely beat. Produced a couple of good grayling in late afternoon/evening.

My friend fished this and caught a good-sized brown trout. Also had a couple of missed takes. Late afternoon into evening.

Blue skies, nice flow to river, fish rising until midday, couple of takes to dry fly and good trout lost at net on ptn. Lovely secluded section of the river although fairly short would definitely return.

Vey cold wind and no hatch so fished bugs, only small out of season grayling showing so finished early

2 Grayling

Lovely beat lots to go at although the water levels were very low, the grayling didn’t play ball but a lovely browny saved a blank for my son

1 Trout

Beautiful day, 14 or 15°C very light wind and the river dropping overnight to a good level and not pushing through as hard as yesterday. Sadly no grayling found only trout ( all very fit specimens ). Tried upstream and downstream nymphing as no rises without joy, then switched to trotting all afternoon. Had a salmon come past my feet and was close to another that jumped twice in quick succession. Are grayling numbers on the decline in the Irfon? Lovely beat, will be back for some trouting next season.

9 Trout

A lovely OOS brown trout about 15" and a smaller grayling. Windy conditions and lots of "leaves on the line" prevented dry flies being used, both taken on small nymphs.
