This a beautiful stretch of the Irfon and very quiet and private. we could access most of the water but due to the previous night's rain we didn't risk crossing to access the top section as we couldn't see how deep it was. The river was very coloured with a milky appearance when we arrived and stayed like that all day. Visibility was about 50 - 60 cm. This was most likely due to rain the previous night but it did make the fishing difficult with very little fly life and hardly any rising fish. The fish we did catch all came to a weighted nymph with a sparkle band would around the body. It was easy to find and the directions to the water were very straight forward.

Great beat, just had a couple of hours and caught a trout around 11 inches but missed several on the dink, got distracted by the bird life.

Nice morning on a lovely beat, no fish but happy to be out

0.7m on cilmery gauge. Found that a bit high for fly fishing. Caught a 4 pound chub trotting. Scenic peaceful spot. Nice to meet a landowner so passionate about the river.

Very quiet not a bite all day water gin clear a big salmon threw itself into the air by me. As you enter the beat owner says a lot of salmon in pool directly to the left. The owner said lots of people say either nothing here or a great day fishing. There are hardly any gutters here so I think it’s all about water height and colour. Used a Klink and dink with small beaded grhe on the point and pink nymph above and klinkhammer. Wading and casting here are easy. Beautiful patch of river lots of benches waterside to sit.

River was in lovely condition. Three OOS trout up to approx 3/4lb and one salmon parr, all safely returned. No sign of any grayling. All taken on nymph.

Water low but a number of fish seen

Another hot and sunny day. The river was low but clear and there were fish rising throughout the period that we fished. Beautiful spot. Plan to return, next time with longer rods, which we remembered belatedly is exactly what we concluded last time we fished it.
