Possibly the worst place i have ever tried to fish. There was no swims accessible and the only swims you could get too was around 10 feet above the water, so our nets would never reach. walked up and down for over 2 hours looking for a swim, trying to park my car was only in a couple of place where i wasn't blocked the path.
gave up and came home.
Would ask for a refund but i know you would never do that .
You should put on your website that you need a machete as part of your fish tackle

Fished at the croy upstream of Biblins bridge using stick float and swimfeeder tactics. Shame we had to leave early as bites were coming more regularly post 4pm.

Enjoyable day on the river despite very coloured water and no realistic prospect of a salmon. 1.4m at Lydbrook after a week of rain. Stunning scenery, generally very easy wading on the pools marked as fly water, plenty of water to explore, only saw 1 canoe all day. Incredible mayfly and olive hatch for trout anglers!
The lower section is really just for spinning as high banks (6’ plus in places) and very deep water right off the bank with heavy brambles right to the waterline. Good for fly from top of beat and I could see more water would open up in lower flows.
1 trout of 10’ took a 1.5” cascade tube!

Despite not intending to take the dog fishing with me, an on the day family problem meant I had to either just drive 2 hours home or try and take him with me! Tricky finding a suitable beat to take dogs with sheep everywhere but having walked Monmouth-Symonds Yat a few times, I've always been curious and thought it might be reasonable. Probably a tad high still 1.35m at Monmonth but it was very fishable colour and it was a very enjoyable afternoon evening for fido and me! It's all a bit "wild" and overgrown so tricky continuing along the bank fishing in places especially with a dog attached but hey it worked and we fished! I started with the dog on a lead and me casting the spinning rod lobbing a Devon Minnow through Martins pool and bar etc certainly felt right. Moved upstream and some lovely deep spinning water but unfortunately just impossible to get at even with a spinning rod. A quick flick through the Cement rocks showed some fly water to return to and obviously up to Biblins bridge. Left dog in car to fish fly fish Biblins from right bank and a lovely fly run that is. A few flicks in Slaughter before retreating without snorkeling and under the bridge before driving back downstream to fly fish the cement rocks very easy and a few more gaps to spin through. No Salmon seen but it's is an incredible place to spend some time, not a single canoe just a few bikes and the odd walker seen in 8 hours. Real bliss and the dog had a damn good walk up and down for a few hours with me! Many thanks all.
