We saw maybe 4 or 5 salmon jump. It was baking hot and sun on river all day. We used flies and spun with lures as well (Flying Cs and Tobys) but never felt like we would catch. The most likely stretch felt like it was the pool leading into Cadora Rocks but again not even a touch.
The water was relatively clear but a little silty.

Fished from 5am. Water the clearest I have seen this year for this beat so fished fly for most of day. Besides one fish showing at rock above the top crib nothing to report. The water colour looked a bit murky in afternoon as temperatures reached uncomfortable levels, both for me and probably the salmon as well.

At last some visibility in water. Able to fish fly in runs at bottom of beat. Spun the rest. Nearest to seeing fish was part remains of tail and bone.

River visibility still only about 1 foot. Must be due to warm weather not rain. No fish seen. Expected to be able fly fish after dry period but due to colour used spinners and a large colour full fly due to water colour.

Dad was spinning for the salmon and worked the beat as extensively as he could from the bank. The water was pretty coloured and probably not in ideal condition. I coarse fished as a guest and a caught a barbel of about 6lbs from a nice run on the opposite bank towards the upper end of the beat. The stretch itself was certainly full of character and whilst endearing also a little intimidating. A pair of waders would probably help as access to the river is limited.

River coloured even in bright sun, visibility less than one foot. Spun with bright yellow and orange lures for 4 hours, the max time my back can take. Maybe next visit will be fly in lower clearer water which I can do all day. Any fish had their heads down.
