Tried a few swims but just one chub caught.

Tried swims up and down the beat but just one fish each all day.

Tough day on a gin clear cold river but managed 4 chub to 4lb from about 5 swims on meat ....

1 small pike early in the day.
Although I found Fownhope village ok, it was not that easy to find the parking/river stretch and not easy to establish the boundaries of the permit.

2 bites and 1 barbel of 6lb landed. Fished lucky stoned and first field after the woods with no joy, fished 2 other swims by the hut and had the bites. The first bite snagged up and unfortunately snapped the line. Great day out on a gorgeous and quiet beat.

1 chub, no barbel. Cold start after overnight drop in temp. Glorious weather today. Meat on a running ledger rig.

2 chub on meat. 4lb 11oz and 3lb 10 oz. River in flood. End swim to the right. One other run missed at the end of the day. Possibly barbel.

River dropping after recent rain and looking good. But fish not playing the game. Just the one small barbel and chub between the three of us. Disappointing sport.
