Storm Bert! Fishing started late morning because Bert was dumping a mass of rain and blowing gusts of 45 plus mph. River was at 4.5 metres and rising. Unable to hold bottom with 6oz in most slacks. Fished to dusk. No fish.

Picked a nice day weather wise. Dry and sunny. Water low and pretty clear. Not a sniff on the feeder. Ran a big balsa down the middle and started picking up big chub immediately. They couldn't resist a moving bait. Wonderful

Hard going today river very low & clear. Just to say the Creel is a lovely stretch to fish if you are a mountain goat otherwise it very dangerous other wise & would benefit if someone would sort the swims out Evan some ropes to get down & up

River looks great although lots of indications from debris from the falling leaves etc.
Enjoyable session.

First time fishing this beat - beautiful setting and relatively easy access. However, with river at current low levels ( 0.5m on the Ross gauge) access to fishable swims is v limited. I could only find two that I was comfortable climbing down too on the whole beat, so be aware when booking.
Fishing itself was tough water low and clear, managed to tempt 4 good chub - biggest 5.5lb on cheese paste, but river really needs some rain.
4 Chub
