Started in our favourite area mid afternoon and just as my friend commented on how peaceful it was it soon changed as several canoes capsized upstream of us leaving debris of boats, people, clothing and spectacles all over the river.
With a little help from us they got gathered up and dried out and on their way downstream.
The sun was blazing down so it wasn't the most productive part of the day anyway for us.
A little move downstream and as the afternoon progressed we started catching, chub first and then barbel. Feeder tactics and 10mm pellets worked well.
Wildlife today included a little egret, heron, cormorant, kestrel, buzzards and the very friendly mandarin ducklings.
Very enjoyable.

Lovely stretch of river. River was running low with some colour from previous rain fall. We started at bottom of stretch that produced a Barbel and two Chub. Then moved back up stream were we found a deeper area that held some fish. We fished pellet and boilie and continued to catch until we decided to call it a day. We ended with 9 Barbel to just over 7 pounds with the average size being just under 6 pounds. Also many Chub and two Roach that provided excellent sport all day. Can't wait to return later in year. Thank you W U F.

Great day on the creel, found the fish from the first cast and caught throughout the day literally every cast. No chub smaller the 2.5lb and the barbel were all between 6-8lb. Pellet feeder and pellet hookbaits responsible for all the fish.

Interesting venue with rather steep banks, but luckily we both enjoy climbing, so we managed to get down to the waters edge. Our tactics were feeders loaded with Hemp and Pellet with either Pellet or Luncheon Meat on the hook, hence an Eel being the other fish. By the end of the day, we had had our best days fishing so far on the Wye and we will definitely be back to this beat. River was low, with a little colour.
