A tough day, river very low and clear, fished towards the bottom end with not a touch. One of those days where you think are they just not feeding yet or am I in the wrong place. Moved eventually and probably too late, but had a 5lb barbel first cast in new swim and had a few other knocks after that. Misty all day. Enjoyable and very relaxing day.

Second day of 2 on the Creel and what a difference in weather conditions from the day before, it was dull and damp all day long, typical autumn weather.
I started in the church field and had a barbel after 30 minutes of starting, no more bites were forthcoming so I moved to the bottom of the beat where I had taken one fish the day before. This yielded not a bite so I moved back upstream to a peg I had not fished before but had put in a little bit of bait walking past. I hooked a barbel second cast but it managed to shred the line on a snag and escaped. No other bites came my way so I moved again to another swim but had no bites here either.
A move back to my original swim was made mid-afternoon as I had taken the trouble to keep a bit of bait going in through the day. A further 7 barbel were taken to a best of 7lb 2oz and another lost when the hook pulled out. All fish taken on straight lead with either pellet or boilie hook bait, a glugged bait seem to do the job best of all.
There is now a gas gun bird scarer operating in the field opposite the bottom of the beat... it is very loud if you fish near it and I can’t help feeling most of the fish might have departed that area as well!
A lovely days fishing in a very nice place.

What an incredible day weather wise for near November. It started off misty and warm before turning sunny and hot, 19 degrees celcius in the shade! It clouded over later and got back to a more normal temperature.
To the fishing. I concentrated my efforts on the bottom field and took a barbel on the second cast but had no more bites until the afternoon when I had a second fish after trying a couple of other swims. Both fish were around the 5lb mark and caught on straight lead and boilie and pellet. A lovely place to spend some time in autumn.

River low and clear but weather very mild and cloudy so did not know what to expect. Turned out to be a very good afternoon with barbel to 9lb-3oz on pellet and feeder. However, they switched off early and I caught a solitary chub in the last hour and a half. Just the same a great session on a lovely stretch of the Wye.

With the weather very mild I arrived to a very low and clear river and as a consequence suspected that a struggle may be on the cards...however the barbel and chub were very much active with fish coming throughout the day all to the usual methods, tried trotting for a while but the fish appeared to really be responding to the dinner bell effect of the feeder.!
Barbel all between 5lb and 8lb and chub to 4lb A fantastic days fishing on an outstanding stretch of the river Wye.

As usual a lovely day fishing on the Wye, not the most productive day we've ever had but enjoyable none the less. Anyone staying down the night before would be wise to try "the Old Mill" at Hoarwithy coupled with a scoff in the New Harp makes for a good night.

River clear and low. Nice looking stretch, beautiful surroundings. Caught one chub early on, stick float maggot. Swim was dead for rest of day, no sign of any small fish or anything showing on the surface. Absence of fish life, no ripples etc. Fished a couple of hours into dusk and caught 6 chub between us, 2-4 lbs.
