Had a fantastic day today. Sunday 23 June. 29 chub up to 6lb. Unfortunately no barbel. 1 eel.

Got to the the river around 6am. Was fishing by 6.30am and straight away the rod tip was bent over. Had a very good day using a cage feeder with fine brown crumb and used good old luncheon meat as hook bait.... Left at 7.30pm to a handwritten note on the windscreen of my car which was written by another angler saying he was reporting me for not paying and that my registration number is going all over social media!!!!.... Why would I fill out a catch return if I didn't pay?. ????????????. He obviously had a blank!!!!!. Knowledge of the river catches the fish... The guy actually spoke to and watched me catch a few chub.... Very bitter angler by the seem of it!!!...

Anyway it's a beautiful stretch and I will return!

Fishing Passport Note : You had indeed paid for the fishing and we're glad you enjoyed the day despite of this.

Another hard days barbel fishing. The chub make it worth while with a 6lb caught. Must say the wye and Usk need to review the price of this beat theres only 3 accessible swims for people under the age of 50, any older then that take a rope a ladder and a life vest

Another great day chub fishing averaging around 3lb unfortunately it’s not what we’re here for but they were a great in fill species to catch. The barbel seem very elusive, we spoke to several other anglers who were fishing near by and they said the same. It’s so unfortunate. I can now see the decline of the wye

Very hard to fish these banks. Needs a lot of work for access, very dangerous. Chub fishing is prolific but the barbel have disappeared

Open ended feeder with ground bait and halibut pelletts. River condition perfect but only two places to fish and hard to find . Map needs updating.
Lady on phone very helpful as much as she could be to find the two pegs.
Fantastic fishing really enjoyed it!
