The river was was very high with lots of trees and branches floating down after the high winds. Unable to hold bottom with a heavy feeder but did manage to find a slack close in and caught two chub and an eel on meat. A hard day but nice to be out. Thanks.

Conditions not ideal after a sharp drop in temp overnight combined with a gusting wind and a fair amount of debris coming down the river which meant we couldnt present the bait for more than around 10 minutes at a time. Nevertheless the water level was up, had a nice colour and we did winkle 5 barbel out, upto 9lb 12oz. all to feeder/pellet/meat tactics. The great thing about fishing the Wye is that it always leaves us wanting more....will be back next year.

River conditions were good in respect of level and colour, pushing through with a decent flow but as always, leaves and debris making it hard to present a bait as you would wish. The morning was not too bad weather wise, but all change in the afternoon as the wind got up and rain came in and temp dropping. We managed to land 4 barbel up to 10lb 10oz despite the difficulties. meat and pellet again doing the business. Back next season without a doubt.

Just a short session of around 3 hours from 1 pm. Weather mild but strong gusting wind with intermediate heavy showers. River conditions looked good with good flow/levels and colour but a lot of leaf debris constantly interfering with presentation. Had two takes on first two cast first one came unstuck almost immediately second produced a small barbel of around 5 lb then no further action.

Another good day at The Creel. Had two good fish and an eel (I changed fishing bags and did not include a set of scales). MB had three barbel to 8lb. I spent a couple of hours trying to catch on trotted maggots but did not have a single bite. Rain stopped play.

River was ideal, had good flow and some colour. Started with Elips pellets with feeder in the morning but no success. At about midday, switched to 1" meat cubes using inline ledger and fished further out in main flow, bites started immediately. Lost a couple of Barbel in weed and landed two fish 7.8lb & 5.5lb. After lunch there was a lot of freshly cut branches and debris coming down river, I presume from bank maintenance work further upstream, it became difficult to fish so I went to watch the rugby final. Spoke to the other ticket holder further downstream who had at least a dozen barbel on pellets & feeder - so don't rule out pellets based on my report.

7 barbel shared between the two of us, 5 of which came in a hectic last half an hour at dusk. Fish in the 4 - 7 pounds range, all in perfect condition, taken on standard feeder and pellet / luncheon meat tactics from swims at the bottom end of the stretch. Leaping salmon seen throughout the day.

Day started badly when I discovered I had lost a leg off my chair. Did not improve when, after a fruitless search for leg, overcast conditions turned to long sunny periods. Water very low and clear. Fished fast water opposite island with pellet, meat and maggots with feeder. No bites so moved upstream to deeper water. Still very quiet until I had a couple of chub 2 - 3lb on meat as darkness fell. Saved me from a complete blank, but not a sniff of a barbel. Disappointing.
