River very low. Weather sunny and hot. Arrived early afternoon to find a canoe party had taken over the area around the island and were enjoying a swim. Fished upstream near the end of the footpath on meat. Two very large eels resulted. After a few hours the area around the island went quiet and I was able to fish the faster water. A decent chub came to trotted meat. Changing to pellet and feeder produced no bites over a number of hours so I moved back to the slacker water upstream and took three good chub of 3-4 pounds, losing a number of other fish in the weed. Again pellet was ineffective. A Kingfisher in the tree opposite proved a better fisherman than me, taking prey on every dive.

First time on this stretch for me and it really is a beautiful bit of water in stunning country side. Unfortunately the river was very low and the weather sunny and hot but still managed 2 barbel with the best about 9lb and 16 chub all on pellets from a peg just below the entry path. The access is good and there's plenty of swims to fish so all in all a pretty good day and once again a big thank you to W.U.F for making it possible.

Beautiful location and good access to the river. Some of the beat is camping and caravan site and fished by some of the campers, so this part not so available.

Fished The Creel stretch for the first time, but it won't be the last! A delightful stretch of river in a beautiful setting. Fishing was hard work due to huge rafts of floating weed coming down the river. But after finding an area where I could present a bait I was rewarded with 9 barbel and 3 chub. Looking forward to a return visit.

All fish came to feeder and pellets of various flavours with crab or cheesy garlic favourites!!! River had very little flow and the big clumps of weed coming through made fishing awkward at times. It was still another lovely days fishing on the Wye. Biggest barbel was over 7lb and the biggest chub over 4lb.

Plenty of chub to start with and barbel in the evening all on pellets near the island in the fast water. Nice beat, will book later in the season. Many thanks.

14 Barbel to 10lb, 9 Chub to 6lb. All caught on halibut pellets or meat with feeder. Probably would have caught more if it was not for continual canoeists coming down the river in groups preventing fishing. Great days fishing anyway.

This is an eye-watering beautiful stretch with so many fishy-looking places it was hard to know where to start. I had a 4lb barbel first cast which got my hopes up, but sadly the rest of the day was a bit of a struggle. I tried a few swims and had a few small chub, 3 eels (including one 2.5lb+), and the smallest barbel I've ever seen (about half a pound). I didn't try the bottom field, as it was full of caravans (and will be all summer apparently). One of the caravaners was under the impression that he could fish all along the stretch.
A wonderful stretch and I'm sure I'll be back.
