We were only two anglers in the end as my other mate couldn't make it, but we enjoyed a good days fishing in mostly dry conditions. The river level was slightly down and moving slowly until the storm hit us at around 6.00pm. After that there was a bit more flow and the bites certainly became more confident. My mate caught steadily throughout the day on Cheese amd Garlic Pellet, but not Halibut. I had nothing until my last three casts, when I had three fish all on Halibut Pellet. Unfortunately, we had to leave at 8.00pm as we had to be home before our 24 hours was up! :-) As per usual on the Wye, the wildlife especially the birds were amazing and in abundance!

Level quite high, 2m on the Ross gauge and coloured. Struggled to find many places to fish due to the high banks. This is not a good stretch to fish in high water conditions due to the dangerous banks and lack of sheltered swims. Had one Chub in the morning and a single barbel in the afternoon. Fished for 8hrs for just 2 fish.

With the river now looking fishable after what has been almost biblical conditions for 6 weeks it was just a pleasure to be out on the banks, spent the day roving the beat with breadflake or meat as hookbait, 2 bite's and one chub, far from the best days winter chubbing but a real joy to get out again.
