Had a couple of pulls but that was it! Found it hard to access some of the pools due to steep banks, more suitable for spinner than the fly

Water lower than expected. A lot of mayfly activity but very few rising fish.

It was very windy and wet day. The river Loughor was very colored and no fish at all, but it was nice fishing on the river Teifi with 10 brown trout on spinners and hard baits.

Went to the upper stretch and parked at Synchant farm to fish for wild brown trout. Very difficult access to river, overgrown with Japanese Knotweed and very difficult to find the one area where someone had previously trodden through. It wasnt possible for me to get out of the river further along and walk the banks due to the knotweed. As it was very calm, I had to wade up the river, some lovely pools, perfect for sea trout but often too deep to wade through and so restricted to a small number of pools. Lots of rising fish, some takes, none-netted though!

Two trout caught nymphing - there was a March Brown hatch but nothing rising. One of the trout was an absolute cracker of a brown trout coming in at probably around 3lb, brilliant stuff. Will be back when the water has warmed just a little and hopefully they’ll be more active!

No fish caught, although trout were rising. Also some dead sheep lying around the place which wasn't ideal. A bad omen perhaps? Water levels too low, will be back again when the river conditions are more favourable.
