Fished Lake Egnant, two nice brown trout taken on fly (one on small black nymph and other on large Cats Whisker), both released in good health. Fish were each about 300g. No takes on dry flies, and fishing was tough in general but scenery made up for that. Warm sunny weather. Short session on Lake Hir but no takes there.

Nymphs and beetle patterns couple of plucks wonderful setting total isolation

Bright and breezy day for my first visit to Teifi pools. Few fish showing but they did respond to small wets pulled through on an intermediate line. Managed 3 nice fish to the net and bumped a few more. Will definitely be back for another visit. Tightlines

Had a few hours in the morning, very bright conditions (+ warm) tried a variety of flies at varying depths with no takes.

River rising after heavy rain but no fish showing had 3 brown trout about 6inches Locals say river not recovered from pollution from digesters killed all fish a short while past Sad because the river is so wonderful to fish a fly
Had a good day out and met very friendly farmers

Quick morning session on the last day of another great Welsh mini adventure which included hiking to the top of Cader Idris with a dodgy knee. Fished Beat 1 which even in low water still has some deep pools and held a healthy number of fish. All taken on dry (Klinkhammer) using an 8 foot #3 rod with a 4# line, though further up the beat a 7 foot rod would be better.

A beautiful meadow valley river with lots of riffles, pools and glides full of water crowsfoot. With hot weather and bright sun and a very low river the fishing was not easy but searching with an IOBO CDC dry I managed a few, not big in size ( largest 14") but full of wild fight. A couple of larger Browns were spotted. Fished beat 5 and 8.

Lovely day on beat 8 of the river, only two small Browns on a dry but plenty of takes missed (reactions not as quick as they used to be)! Would recommend this stretch not just for the fishing but also the peace and tranquility. I am sure that if we had been able to fish into the evening there would have been the chance to catch far more.
