One small wild brownie and one nice sized one caught on dry fly - both returned unharmed

I only fished for a couple of hours in the afternoon as I'd been working nearby and fancied a look at the lakes. There were a surprising amount of fish moving and showing quite close in considering how cold the weather's been but I didn't manage to temp any of them in the short amount of time I had available.

We actually fished Llyn Egnant. Mary caught 1 trout (returned) of 1/4 lb and I blanked. Had 2 big trout slash at a CDC Ffly but they came down on top of the fly and I didn’t hook them unfortunately....
Most enjoyable and beautiful scenery.

A horrible day for it, gale force wind and rain. But conditions like this often produce well during the summer. We had fish from Llyn Hir, Llyn Teifi, Llyn Egnant and then Llyn Berwyn, which fished well as it got dark . We caught plenty of fish from 12oz to 1lb1/4.

Ah, what a wet ‘orrible week! Suspect the falling barometer was the worst aspect. Anyway, conditions were: NE breeze and felt chilly at around 11C; grey day with some light rain; nothing hatching, nothing moving on top. Fished West bank from top to bottom, loch style, cast and pace. Can’t wait to catch Llyn Hir on a good day.

One excellent 15” fish caught, well above the usual size from this lovely wild moutain llyn. But it was hard work today, nothing rising so fished a team of wets, with a few vigorous takes on the butcher point fly. Note that although the access track is excellent, turning space is limited, rutted and boggy, particularly for a non-4WD - those with conventional cars might be better taking the very short walk down from the road.
