Cold and windy at the Teifi pools yesterday. I managed 2 nice trout though taken close to the margins on a floating line and small cormorant. My two companions were not so fortunate though. Very little activity seen, just 3 rises spotted during the day. Both fish safely returned.
The tracks around the pools are now very broken up in areas due to water damage and heavy trucks going through, so take care and use a 4x4 if you have one.

Well , what a day ..... got up to Egnant with my buddy Mac at about nine ish..... Hoofing winds and a cold rain ..... pppfffttttttttttttttt roll on Spring!! The BBC weather app stated different, a lot different !!! ... a sedate 16mph wind , occasional showers .... ohhh well close I guess ... add on another 30 mph and you're in the tight ball park ....lol !!!!!
Hard fishing to be fair ... I managed two out of Egnant and a later on we did forty minutes back over on Teifi ..... one really stunningly marked fish from the top bay, left of the dam ......
Just getting a decent line out was a mission in itself today .... give it another month and the usual classic move and cast tactics with a deadly team of two, or three will be the order of the day !!!
We got soaked, nearly blown away but hey ho,the wildest of Wales, yep she was on form today ..... never disappoints ... but what a place to get cold hands, and cheeks you can't feel ..... Wales we love you !!! And, to be fair I can't really moan at three stunning Bars of Welsh Gold from such a stunning location...... Next week my local Elan Valley and beloved Claerwen Reservoir open their doors, so I shall be wetting a line at Sparrows fart next Wednesday on one of the big wild waters locally...... we're truly spoilt here .... mid Wales you are the jewel in the Crown for game fishing!!! Off home and a large Baileys coffee I think !!!!

Mild and calm conditions, not a single ripple on either Teifi or Hir. No fish showing or seen. Tried floating and intermediate lines with various wet, nymph, buzzer and dry patterns. No fish caught and no bites. Difficult day but what a great venue will be back when the weather warms up.

Another lovely day on the Teifi pools. The fish were all on the top on daddies, hogs and half hogs and were responding to a twitched fly in the ripple if there was no action on the static dry.
A great end to the season.
Getting around up there is a challenge at the moment if you haven't got 4 wheel drive as there seems to be a lot of work going on which has not improved the already rough tracks so take care.

Only had a couple of hours at the end of the day to fish. It was very windy but did manage to raise several fish with hoppers and daddies. I did have one fish on but it came off half way in.
I enjoyed fishing there and wish I had been able to spend longer
