One fish caught on nymphs drifted in the wind. Fish rising in the evening and a few taken from the surface. All returned

All but 2 fish were taken on a weighted hares ear nymph. The fish were 30-40 feet from the bank about a foot down

Lyn Egnant very low, water reasonably clear, no insect life. Got a brown pushing 15” on a bead head black spider.
Lyn Teifi similar, a few daddies around the dam so I stuff a daddy and a size 14 sedgehog on and provoked a solitary take from a 9” incher.

Enjoyable day with 4 fish of around 8oz- all returned - although had several more takes and rises so it felt more action packed than that number suggests! Started well on Llyn Teifi then decided to fish the two other lakes to the east which, it turned out, were not so productive for me. With hindsight I should have stayed on Llyn Teifi! Occasional fish seen rising however wind was NW so used a goldhead on the point and that seemed most productive.

This was my first time fishing here and as close as I've seen to the lochs in NW Scotland i.e. quiet, scenic, wild brown trout etc.

Helpful note - the public road was slightly flooded in one place due to overnight rain so I couldn't get to the side of the waters as planned and had a longer hike instead. Worth bearing in mind. Should have taken my jeep instead of a low slung car (a normal saloon car would have been fine)!

fished lake hir in the late afternoon early evening after heavy down pour in the morning small amount of fish activity but none interested in the fly.

beautiful clear day, plenty of trout jumping on Egnant but none interested on the fly different methods used but didn't appear to be interested. wonderful scenery across the different lakes.
