Fished from morning until 1pm and produced a solid blank! Seen a couple of raises but failed to tempt. Nice views though.

With all of the rivers blown out a trip to Teifi Pools was in order. These lakes opened on 3rd of March and are a welcome option this early in the spring. As expected it was hard going, with the wind often being an issue. However a few fish were spotted moving to buzzer and cow dung flies. All fish caught were of a good stamp, ranging from 14 to 16 inches and in very good condition for the time of year. Pulling lures and wets accounted for most, but nymphing with Diawl bachs also worked. As always a fantastic day out which really blew away the cobwebs.

Tough conditions with bright sun and cool winds. Only managed 1 small brownie on dries. My mate had 3 on wets.

Decided to fish Llyn Teifi (under the same ticket) and had a wonderful day roaming the eastern shore fishing with two dries. Managed 11 to the net but lost quite a few too. It was hard work with the brutal winds and heavy showers but these are the conditions I love on the llyns. There's an excellent stamp of hard fighting fish (1lb average). Well worth a visit – be aware, the track leading to the dam wall is quite rough.

Arrived early, but could only fish the east side of all three llyns. Storm Betty had landed and made the fishing very difficult. I kept at it all day and got a good few pulls from a black lure, but caught nothing. Next time I shall avoid all conditions with a name.

Hard going today, with heavy rain and strong wind. Dave managed 1 small brownie to the net and safely returned. Fred had a take but missed it. Enjoyable day even though fishing was hard.

For a change from the gorgeous Elan Valley, Claerwen and the masses of feeder streams that surround Rhayader, I ventured off to the remote Teifi pools, " over the next Mountain " ..... a lovely drive through the mountain roads, via Cwmystwyth.... and on to the pools .....
I started on Egnant but she was low , exposing mud and the weed beds, so was difficult in fairness, although I picked up one cracker of thirteen inches on a slow retrieved bibio .... turbo charged!! Lovely take too !!! Admired the gorgeous spotty fish then awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay !!!!!
Onwards to Llyn Teifi .... as I knew she'd have a bit more variety bank wise .... she was tricky and I put in some leg work today in fairness but always worth the effort .... four beauties here ..... three on the bibio and one on a large Clan Chief variant.... fish ranged from ten to fourteen inches .... absolute crackers .... Real bars of gold and those spots !!!! ..... weather was iffy but can't complain I think the decent wave brought them up ..... I did try a sedgehog on its own on the last hour, ...two cracking takes .... both came off after a short tussle!!! Still good fun though ...... I was limited to shoreline with the pokey wind so fan cast in the areas I could get at .... seemed to work !!
A cracking day up at the Teifi pools ....peaceful and total silence at one point, interrupted by ....... yep you've guessed it, a sheep!!! Well what else !! Lol !!
Hard to beat here I would say ... ring the changes and move to another lake if ones playing tricky .... that's the beauty of the ticket, you can fish any of the three ... Happy days .... off home and something refreshing in a pint pot me thinks !!!
