Great first time on these beats, fished Beats 3-6 all left bank. Caught the small trout on a nymph fished deep in the hole by the start of Beat 4 and returned. Please to have good directions and advice from Terry the Fishery Manager. Also, much easier wading than upper Wye. Easy access to the river, with wader protection on the barbed wire. Looking forward to returning to complete areas not fished. Great stuff.

Bonkers weather today. Sun, Rain, Sleet, Hail, Wind and more WIND. Fishing was hard due to the cold. Tried nymphing ... Upstream, down and across, euro nymph. A couple of missed pulls between the two of us. One small wbt to the next on silver beaded oyster Shetland spindrift slayer. No other fish seen. Kingfishers, skylarks provided pockets of entertainment. Very grateful to have brought pork pies and hot tea to the river bank.

Beautiful Spring day on the beat, managed 3x healthy, plump (hungry) Trout as a bi-catch. I had several other pulls throughout the day, but no proper takers this time. Water was a great height and colour, but still very cold.
