early start and all fish came between 5am and 8.30 - lost a couple of decent fish in the rocks and snags on beat 2
-should have packed up when it got hot and sunny - but sat it out and cooked without a bite for 6hrs - with about 200 swans and canada geese my swim looked more like Slimbridge at feeding time, made it really hard work at times - not sure id fish this beat again til the younger birds have moved on.

We were hoping for more water in the river and a bit more cloud cover, but we were blessed with a very sunny day ... At least there wasn't much wind!
Fished beats one and two in the main. No sign of salmon but plenty of other fish seen. Two cheeky accidental trout caught.
Osprey, Hobby, Sandmartins seen. Woodpecker and cuckoo heard.
Good company, lovely day on the water.

Beautifully clear water and a nice level, although a touch more water may of got fish moving. Some cracking looking pools that I will be back to fish again later in the season.

A fun day had spotting chub, barbel and trout swimming around.

No sign of salmon, but a large march brown hatch had trout rising everywhere. Maybe a dry fly day would’ve been more productive.

The search for a springer on the wye continues!
