Quiet day. Fun was watching the sand martens doing their high speed aerobatics. Saw an Osprey doing a leisurely fly past. Three salmon showing on beat 4 in different spots. A bit too bright & hot really.

Lovely day on a beautiful fishery. Some large chub caught nearly every cast in the morning, however had a sleep break around the afternoon and upon returning at 1700 couldn’t get even a feeder knock. Walked whole length of fishery to find a barbel but again was outwitted.

River coming down off mini spate with high colour. Fish not feeding or simply not there, hoping it's the former. One chub for three anglers not stinting on effort and mixing methods and baits.

Fished the fly all day. No pulls. We saw one grilse in Beat 6 and a decent looking fish right at the end of the tail of Beat 2. By-catch included two trout in Beat 3 and 4 nice chub to a flashy cascade in Beat 6. We’ll keep trying for a Wye salmon!

Fished beats 4/5/6, had a few pulls in beat 4, caught a chub in beat 4 also. Then moved onto beat 2 by the rapids. Lovely evening but sadly no fish. Highly recommend.

Fished beat 6 and beat 2 with the fly and spinner. No pulls. Saw on fish at the top of beat 6. An enjoyable weekend on a fine beat with the river at a good height.
