Riover had risen 1.1m overnight, so we arrived to a whirlpool of muddy water. By mid afternoon the river had fallen 60cm and we managed to pull 4 chub out from beat 2.

Shocking weather with pouring weather all day and river rose by 3' during the day. Managed one small barbel and 3 good sized chub before the river levels forced us off the bank.

Stunning looking fishery. Fished the first swim downstream of the old stable parking area. The river was up a bit, with a bit of colour. only caught three Barble between the two of us. However one almost broke the ten pound barrier at 9-14. Good days fishing

A tougher day than yesterday. Three rods on beat two fishing off the various shingle banks. There was a reasonably strong flow augmented by strong gusts of wind and peppered with occasional squally showers. All rods fished with pellet and feeder. Whilst the river has been and still is low following the very dry summer there are plenty of holes and channels to explore. Breakdown of catches as follows:
PG 1 Barbel 4lb & 1 Chublet
JH 4 Chub
PA 2 Barbel 6lb & 4lb

3 Barbel, 5 Chub

We had a good day on Beat 2 at Whitney Court. The river keeper, Terry Ward, kindly gave us a pointer as to which areas to fish and we had a couple of chub and four Barbel between us. Lovely fishery, we will definitely come back. Thanks Terry and W&UF.

Lovely few hours as always on this stretch. Loads of wildlife around you and a shedload of curious cows which are no trouble. Started on the very bottom pool in the deepest water and managed three lovely barbel before heading to the next corner taking two more this on the float.
No Chub again which is strange for this stretch as they are usually the first to the bait. I find myself taking more photos of the wildlife on this stretch than actually fishing such is the vast number of birds on this stretch.

Great day as always
