Very hot. No fish

My 12 yr son tried fishing for the first time with artificial bait, float, sink and hook.No luck catching anything but had lots of fun.

Very hot. No fish. Beautiful beat though if you can handle the canoes once in a while. Many exit at Whitney bridge which is the start of the beat. If possible I would recommend canoeing the beat if fly fishing as can get to the better waters far easier. There are still parts you can get to from the bank and climb down. Some really good faster, whiter water and ideal for trout. Had a lovely brown last year.

Fished a few spots down the river today using various methods and had absolutely nothing out.

I was there hoping for a barbel but unfortunately I didn't manage anything other than the 4 small chub.

Fish did not seem very interested after very hot day the day before. Very little showing. One small grayling on blackish nymph fished deep.
