Fished beat 2 from 13:00 - 15:00. Beautiful stretch of water and good casting practice.

Visiting from South Africa so just HAD to try for salmon with the double-hander I so rarely get to use. Fished beats 4 and 5 in the afternoon. Trout rising with intent when I got to the river. Thought about getting the 4wt from the car but they turned off again after about 30 minutes. Fished till 20:00, weather was a bit challenging but being alone on such a beatiful river more than made up for the cold and lack of silver.

22lb fresh hen fish caught on a flying C from Loxters Pool and safely returned

Good water height and clarity. Saw one fish on beat 6 but not a lot else!

1 Trout

Fresh 20lb cock fish from beat 4 on a green and black cascade. Safely returned. One trout on a salmon fly, nothing else seen.

Lovely day but no fish, fished locksters and beats 1 and 5, spinning with Devons and flying 'C'. Water very cold and no fish movement seen at all.

Same as the day before, no fish caught or seen. Milder weather brought more fly off and there were plenty of trout rising to emergers.

No salmon seen or caught, but there were some excellent hatches of March browns and grannom. It may be a little early still for the better fly water, given the slow start to spring. Spinning in the deeper pools might be a better bet.
