No fish caught

Lovely frosty morning. Fished dead bait for Pike, no joy.

Pike fished the stretch with dead baits. River fairly low and very clear. Otherwise conditions overcast and not too cold. No one had a bite!

Visiting angler Alan Clerk fished most of the beats with sprats sink and draw to take 4 pike 8- 16 lb. Much larger fish seen turning away from the baits. Water temperature and height rising slightly throughout the day.

Lure fishing but blanked!

Water crystal clear and cold wind. Excellent pools but fish reluctant to feed.

Very hard day with one pike to show for our efforts. Beautiful stretch with cracking beats.

Visiting guest angler D.Paige reported River now much clearer and trying all the likely spots on beats 5 and 6 fishing dead-bait sprat's sink and draw 4 small pike to 8 lb were netted and a few follow ins from bigger fish which turned away at the last minute.

River rising due to previous rain with some colour, 5 rods caught 2 Barbel and 4 Chub.

Superb cock fish landed by Vic M, on a small tube fly on low water double shrimp pattern. 10 Lb with all the seasonal trim. Full kype as is the norm now. Come on next spring .
