Water a bit high, and a cold day. Small hatch I'm the afternoon resulting in 10 mins action. Three hookups and one grayling taken on a #18 BWO effort. Lovely fish.

River a bit high for wading and getting the flies down to the fish, even with heavy nymphs, but we had a lovely day on a very beautiful river.

Fished the short upper sectonn spent over an hour looking again for the lower secton car parking, could find even with help from two different locals. Eventually found it - perhaps if the notes had said it was directly opposite the campsite or even, heaven forbid, provided a postcode then it could be be found without delay. The notes make reference to A B & C on the map - but there is no A B or C on the map...
A sign by the first pool stated that thee was no trout fishing above that point so didn't feel comfortable fishing, and then as it is not possible to get around the area where the bank had collapsed and the dreaded paddleborders came through I just gave up.

The river was high and fast. I only fished for around 2 hours due to unforseen circumstances.

I fished the euro nymphing style, close in, with a heavy black point nymph, to get down to the fish. A hares ear nymph, with a pink tag, on a dropper took the most fish. The biggest probably a pound plus, great fun in the fast water.
