River now back at normal summer level (5” on Brecon gauge). Increased flow has removed blanket weed issue. Bright sunshine, no wind. Little fly hatch, so focussed on nymph in the faster water. Turned a few over but no fish caught. Saw bailiff who reported good hatches at the top of the beat from around 18:00 hrs - but had to leave earlier.

Hmmm - bit of a weird day after three productive days on the Wye - all I caught here was blanket weed - a real shame.

Two other things:
Could you advise the farmer that there's a recently deceased sheep on the right bank near the bottom end of the beat (Pretty much directly opposite the pedestrian gate on the opposite bank.)

I found a very nice new "Twin Peakes flyfishing baseball cap" dropped here or potentially drifted downstream from somewhere - maybe you could canvass users and I can post it on. Possibly drop it in to you tomorrow

Great beat,good variety of water not bad level considering.Will be back in the Spring. Having said all that Oh! the weed.Every cast nymph or dry almost gave up the first hour,stayed on just a lovely beat to fish.

River level low. Fish seemed to be more active on the upper part of the beat where water was faster.

Perseverance with dry flies got one went in the shallows towards the far bank and also a decent fish both on and off in the pool below the first riffle.

Lovely day, lovely beat. Will be back.

Wonderful fishery well maintained, water temp climbing to 18 late afternoon. Fish are spooky due to low water but has a couple of nice ones.
