Water high-ish and clear, SE breeze - ie. all well fishable. A decent hatch, and rise, to LDOs around 1-2pm, otherwise quiet. 6 fish, but only up to 12", mainly on a 14 Adams or Jingler. Highlight was a cub otter, which swam slowly up the far side of the river only a few feet away, squeaking for (presumably) its mother while eyeing me carefully

As predicted, extremely strong wind so spent half a day swinging spiders.Had a few pulls but nothing stuck. small hatch of LBO's went whizzing by me in the wind.Downstream wind made any dry fly impossible and water very ruffled so didn't see any rises.Lovely beat though for a better day
