Some surface activity in the afternoon and one decent fish lost on a dry olive. A few other takes missed until hatch tailed off around 4:00pm.

Enjoyable day despite limited success and some hefty downpours throughout the day. One fish caught on nymph fished clink and dink style on top section. Mix of flies coming off sporadically and we missed a few takes to dries but the fish didn’t really seem to be that interested - or perhaps that was down to our competence!

I was rather worried by yesterday's rain, but river looked really good. Lost a couple of fish. Missed a few takes. But managed to land one.

Very tough going, weather not letting up much, with temps still low and rain pretty constant.
A lot of swapping and changing methods, spider drifts working getting 2 fish, with a short 20min flurry of mayfly hatch and rise managed a few more fish.
A good day out as always, but challenging!

Thanks to Abercynrig!

Nice beat - mixed water with glides for spiders, flats for dry's and rapids for nymphs. The river was a decent height and running clear. The weather was good, generally sunny with some heavy showers later in the day. Warm with a gently south easterly.

Some olives coming off between 10am and 12am but very few rising fish. Found two close to each other - waded in up to my eyeballs, covered one who rose for the fly - missed him and he spooked the other one.. After that not much found. Did catch fish in the faster water using tight line nymphing techniques and jigging a lure about. Not my preferred way to fish but needs must! Perseverance and trying different methods paid off today.
