Water clear and level dropping and many leaves falling from the trees and coming down the water- great to be out on last day. We fished all day but nothing seen or caught.
Highlight of the day was meeting a gentleman who had fished these waters for 36 years, we wished him well and hope to see him again next year when he will be in his eightieth year

Quite a day today. I’m not familiar with this part of GLLR but was lucky to meet another member rod when I arrived who kindly showed me around the bottom part of the beat, despite having only a short time to fish himself. Thank You Brian.
Fished down from the gutters, easy wading at 1’ on the gauge, and it was around 1.00 when I had a solid take at, I think, the top of the Chapel. A lively still silvery hen, around 13lb that didn’t look as if it had been in the river too long. Soon after, another hard take and a similar sized fish on for a short time before it went airborne and threw the crushed barb hook. Early evening after backing up a few times, I had another take and a slightly more coloured fish lower down toward the water works, of 13lb maybe 14.
All three fish came to a #10 or #12 Usk Grub. The fish spent a very brief time in the net, swam off strongly and were in very good condition.
A memorable days fishing to close out a hugely frustrating season. Let’s hope for a better, ( and a wetter), 2022

The river was in excellent condition, perfect height, flow and clarity. We saw salmon leaping and both had knocks on a Willie Gun and a Alys Shrimp. We saw salmon throughout the beat.

What a great day.

Nothing caught fished the chapel twice, then showed another member rod, saw one fish rise . Had a text from Mark to say he had just landed a nice clean fish of around 13lb. That's me for the season

A blank day. No salmon seen. Good weather for fishing.

A member rod was most helpful in guiding me as it was the first time I have fished this beat.
