2 salmon hooked and lost , and forecast rain did not arrive ,but still a good day on a fascinating beat.

First time fishing this beat and started from the middle of the beat via Farm with no problem with access. Conditions were fine with not too much wind and no rain. Had no luck in connecting with any fish. Found the river low in places but I have to say the Llangoed Pool is the most scenic part of the river and very deep. Saw fish rising but being a novice could not get my fly anywhere near them. Interesting beat with a lot to offer.

1 trout, no contact with Salmon. 1 seen in the orchard.

Very hot and river falling after last weeks good rise.. Water turned very brown in the afternoon heat.Very surprised to see coarse anglers on this beat lined up along Orchard pool......is this allowed on this beat? Disappointing to say the least.

(WUF note definitely not! will enquire who it was)

Had a few tentative takes throughout the day on nymphs and dries but only managed to bring one 10" trout to the net taken on a tiny black gnat.

1 fish 15lbs ( Hen ) from the Chapel pool at 2-15 pm.
The fish was caught on a size 6 Black Doctor tied on a treble (Kamasan)
It was very bright and hot
Still it was worth it

Caught 2 salmon 18lb and 13lb. Both with spin tackle with Japanese lure for Cherry salmon.
